Patricia Drury, MBA, CPCC
President
I came to coaching after 25 years in consulting and national health care public policy reform and after two years of ordination as a Gnostic priest. My policy work was increasingly frustrating, and I saw coaching as a way to put my priesthood into practice and actually affect the world positively, one person at a time. I coach people surrounding life-altering events – illness, natural disaster, major loss, retirement, even business start-ups. I also work in non-profit leadership development. Serving on the MCA Board gives me a close connection with bright and talented colleagues and the opportunity to contribute to my new profession.

Paula Hemming, MA
Past President
My attraction to coaching came at a time in my life when I was seeking a new and different way to work with people. I had been working in mental health for about a dozen years and I wanted a more joyful approach to having an impact in human development. I saw one coaching demonstration and said, “That’s it! That’s what is next on my path!” My excitement has not wavered. My passion is for training groups and individuals in coaching skills in organizations. Being a member of the MCA Board has connected me to other enthusiastic, talented, and supportive coaches and allowed me an amazing opportunity to give back to this profession that gives me so much joy.

Carol Cirocco, MSW, LICSW
Membership Co-Lead
As a Clinical Social Worker, I have worked in government and non-profit agencies for over 15 years in positions of leadership. For the last 5 years and together with my husband, I owned and operated a private practice providing mental health and chemical health services in Bemidji. We have recently moved to be closer to the metro area which has given me an opportunity to become more involved with MCA. New to Professional Coaching, I think it is a natural extension of what I have done and of who I am. I love positive, synergistic relationships with clients, in an atmosphere of abundance and “can do”.
Why I want to be on the board:
I am interested in serving in a leadership position for MCA because I have found it to be a group of dynamic, energetic, positive individuals who share what they know and what they have. It only makes sense to me that I would be drawn to become more involved.

Denise Aboody

In 2002 I started my own company, dfranck&associates, working as an Executive Coach and Consultant with Women Business Owners and Hospitality Clients. While a native to the Minneapolis area where I live with my husband Christian and our brand new baby girl Alysia Sophia, I have also traveled around the globe to over a dozen countries and throughout over 40 states here in the U.S.
For the past year as your Professional Development Co-Lead I have enjoyed serving the membership of MCA in live meetings as well as bringing you thought provoking speakers and informative virtual tele-class presenters. I believe in the importance of serving the membership of the associations I belong to and would like to branch out my support for MCA in 2008 to the area of communications. I am running for a position as Communications Co-Lead and I ask for your vote. Thank you for the opportunity to serve MCA and its membership for another year.

Bonnie Henriksen, BA
Greater Community Co-Lead
Bonnie works with women professionals who want to become more courageous, confident, creative and connected, personally and professionally. She transitioned to life coaching from a career in Continuing Education administration at one of Minnesota’s community colleges. She enjoys helping individuals connect to resources and insights to make significant difference in their lives.
A graduate of the Coaches Training Institute Core Coaching Program and Certification, Bonnie works with clients individually, in small groups and through experiential learning in workshop settings. She leads an annual leadership retreat for high school students and writes a monthly coaching column for the Floodwood, MN Northern Independent News. This is her second year co-leading MCA’s Greater Community Team. She lives in Grand Rapids, MN.
Being a coach in northern Minnesota is both a blessing and a challenge. I live in God’s Country, by the lake, in the woods, where there’s less traffic, life moves slower, and fewer retail options vie for the dollar. Change happens more slowly and new ideas take longer to reach the masses….in fact, there aren’t any masses! In seeking clients locally, I must introduce the ‘what’ and ‘why’ of coaching before a prospect becomes curious to try it.
As a member of the MCA Board it is my goal to raise awareness around the value of coaching and the availability of trained coaches outside of, as well as within the metro area. Coaches working together will make a greater impact than individual coaches scattered over the large geography of Minnesota and its neighbor states. As co-lead of the Greater Community team I have helped distant coaches begin to connect and network, to support one another collegially and share ideas and resources. I look forward to continuing this work of strengthening the coaching profession by providing connections and tools for MCA members to be successful.

Sydney Paredes, MBA, MA-ABS
Greater Community Co-lead
I'm a Certified Integral Coach through New Ventures West and have owned by own executive coaching business for 7 years. As a member of the MCA i enjoy and learn from the opportunites the organization provides. I have extensive experience working with diverse teams as executive leader, team member, educator, facilitator and coach.
Serving on MCA’s Greater Community Team reminds me how much I enjoy collaborating with and being in service to others in my field. I’m drawn to this particular team because of a desire to reduce isolation, both for myself and for other coaches. I believe this is an issue for all coaches and particularly for those who live outside the metro area.
